Family & Milestone Gifts
Celebrate weddings, babies, retirements, and anniversaries with a blanket that becomes a family heirloom.
10% of every purchase supports veterans, first responders, and their families — because some stitches run deeper than yarn.

Custom handmade afghans crafted one stitch at a time by Barbara — taught by her grandmother, perfected over a lifetime.
Meet Barb
Barbara learned to crochet at her grandmother's kitchen table when she was fifteen. The first piece she ever finished was a little pink square — uneven, a bit lopsided, and treasured to this day. Sixty years later, she still keeps it folded in her sewing basket as a reminder of where it all began.
From her home in Loudoun County, Virginia, Barb makes afghans the slow way: one stitch at a time, with quality yarn she selects herself, and a great deal of patience. Every blanket is made for someone — a granddaughter heading to college, a newlywed couple, a beloved family dog.
She does not run a shop. She doesn't keep inventory. She makes one afghan at a time, the way her grandmother taught her, and she puts a piece of herself into every single one.
"Every afghan I make carries a little piece of my heart."

Have a vision? Barb will work with you to bring it to life — your colors, your pattern, your story.
The Craft
A real handmade afghan can take forty, sixty, even a hundred hours of work. Barb chooses every yarn by hand, washes a sample before she begins, and reworks any row that doesn't sit just right. The result is a blanket that lasts generations — soft, sturdy, and unmistakably made by a person who cared.

Our Mission
Loudoun County is home to one of the largest veteran communities in Virginia. They are Barb's neighbors — the family down the road, the man in the next pew, the young widow who moved in last spring. Their service is woven into the fabric of this place.
So 10% of every afghan goes back to them. Quietly, directly, and always to a cause that's helping a real family get through a hard season.
Provides free lodging for military families while a loved one is hospitalized.
Learn more →Supports surviving spouses, children, and families of America's fallen service members.
Learn more →Enriches the lives of veterans through physical and social activity — active across Virginia.
Learn more →A portion of every afghan goes directly to one of these causes. Barb chooses the recipient based on current community need.
Find a Duck, Keep a Duck
Barb hides rubber ducks around Loudoun County — on Jeep bumpers, park benches, and front porches — each one a small surprise from her to you. She also gives out handmade keychains at local events. If you find one, it's yours. Consider it a little stitch of joy.
More Than a Blanket

A printed card with Barb's photo and the story of her 60-year craft, passed down from her grandmother. So you always know whose hands made this.
A signed, dated certificate documenting the materials used, the pattern name, and where it was made — Loudoun County, Virginia.
Each afghan carries a unique hand-stamped edition number. No two are alike. Yours is recorded in Barb's personal register.
Request a dedication — a name, a date, a few words — and Barb will include it on the certificate and in her note. This blanket will know who it belongs to.
"In twenty years, someone will find this in a cedar chest and know exactly who made it, why, and with how much love."

Kind Words
"My daughter took the Virginia Tech afghan Barb made to her dorm. She calls it her 'piece of home' and sleeps under it every night.
"We gave my parents one of Barb's afghans for their 50th anniversary. My mom cried. It's already being talked about as the heirloom that gets passed down.
"Our golden retriever Henry hasn't slept on anything else since his Barb blanket arrived. She made it just his size, in his favorite napping color.
